Diferencias en la toma de decisiones económicas bajo el influjo de valencias emocionales positivas y negativas, en adolescentes entre 13 y 18 años de noveno, décimo y undécimo grado del municipio de Santa Fe de Antioquia

Abstract

RESUMEN: El presente trabajo investigativo tenía como objetivo establecer las diferencias en la toma de decisiones económicas, bajo el influjo de valencias emocionales positivas y negativas, en adolescentes entre 13 y 18 años que cursan noveno, décimo y undécimo grado, en instituciones educativas del municipio de Santa fe de Antioquia. Se realizó un estudio de tipo cuantitativo, de carácter empírico-analítico y de nivel descriptivo correlacional con un diseño cuasi-experimental. La muestra estuvo conformada por 75 jóvenes cuya media de edad es de 16.27 años, el 42.6% de los participantes son hombres y el 57.3% restante son mujeres, y fue dividida aleatoriamente en tres grupos de 25 integrantes cada uno, dos grupos caso que fueron expuestos a una inducción de un tono emocional, positivo para uno y negativo para el otro, mediante la presentación de un video previamente seleccionado por los investigadores para tal fin; y el grupo control a cuyos integrantes no se les presentó ningún video. El instrumento utilizado para la recolección de los datos fue el Iowa Gambling Task (IGT), un test que evalúa la toma de decisiones económicas a largo plazo en situación de riesgo, por medio de un juego de cartas con opciones beneficiosas y perjudiciales a corto y a largo plazo. Además, se empleó un cuestionario del estado anímico para indagar sobre la existencia de estados emocionales de alta intensidad antes de iniciar la inducción del tono emocional de los grupos caso, y después de esta se les aplicó un cuestionario con el fin de identificar que tan adecuada fue la inducción. Los resultados del análisis estadístico revelaron que el desempeño general de los participantes fue bajo teniendo en cuenta la consigna del IGT. También se pudo evidenciar una diferencia entre los resultados de los grupos caso y el grupo control: el grupo de tonalidad emocional positiva tuvo un desempeño inferior con respecto a los otros grupos; por otra parte, el grupo con tonalidad emocional negativa obtuvo el desempeño más alto dentro de los resultados generales. No obstante, esta diferencia no es tan significativa para proponer una diferencia en las lógicas de razonamiento empleadas por los participantes según la tonalidad emocional inducida.

ABSTRACT: This researching work had as objective to establish the differences in the economical making decisions under the influence of the positives and negatives emotional values, in teens between 13 to 18 years old who are studying in 9, 10 and 11 grade, in educational institutions at Santa fé de Antioquia municipality. It has been made a study of quantitative type, of empirical-analytical character and descriptive correlational level with a design quasi- experimental. The sample was conformed by 75 young whose average age is of 16.27 years, with men a percentage of 42.6% and the women in a 57.3%, and this was divided randomly in three groups of 25 students each one, two groups case which were exposed to one induction of emotional type, it was positive for one and negative for the other, through the video presentation selected previously by the researchers for that goal; and the control group whose integrants did not presented any video. The instrument used to data recollection was the Iowa gambling task (IGT), a test that assessment the economical making decisions to long time in risk situation, through the cards game with beneficial and harmful options to short and long time. It was used a questionnaire mood to inquire about the existence of high intensity emotional states that could present of the participants before starting the test, as well as the previous knowledge that they could have about IGT. It was applied a questionnaire too for the induction groups of emotional type, this was presented to the participants them to do the induction in order to identify if the induction of the emotional type was adequate. The results of the statistical analysis revealed that in general the performance of the participant was low taking in account the slogan of the IGT. It was also evident a difference among case groups and control group; having the group of emotional positive type an underperformance that the other groups; the other hand the emotional group with negative type obtained the most high results. However, this difference is not significant to propose a difference in the reasoning logic employed by participants according the induced emotional type.
