Variación espacio-temporal de la estructura de la comunidad de algas perifíticas en la microcuenca de la quebrada La Vega, municipio de San Roque (Antioquia), Colombia

Abstract

RESUMEN: Entre agosto de 2001 y septiembre de 2002 se estudió la estructura de la comunidad de algas perifíticas en la quebrada La Vega en tres estaciones y cuatro muestreos. Los 31 géneros algales registrados pertenecen a cuatro divisiones, de las cuales la división Bacillariophyta registró tanto el mayor número de géneros como de individuos. La mayoría de los géneros no presentaron variaciones importantes en la abundancia relativa. Los resultados del análisis de agrupamiento, del índice de diversidad y sus componentes mostraron alta similaridad espacial y temporal en la estructura de la comunidad de algas. A pesar de que la mayoría de las variables ambientales no registraron diferencias significativas entre estaciones y períodos de muestreo, se encontró que la combinación de alta intensidad lumínica y la disponibilidad de sustratos duros y nutrientes podrían estar influenciando la densidad algal en la estación tres.

ABSTRACT: From August 2001 to September 2002 three sampling points and four field campaigns were accomplished in order to study the community structure of the periphytic algae at the stream “La Vega”. The 31 algae genera found in La Vega belong to four divisions, from which the Bacillariophyta showed the largest number of individuals and genera. Most of these genera did not show important variations of relative abundance. The results from the cluster analysis, diversity index and its components exhibited a high spatial and temporal similarity of the algae community structure. In spite of the fact that most of the environmental variables did not show a significant difference between sampling points and sampling periods, it found that the combination of high light intensity and the availability of hard substrates and nutrients might be influencing the algae density at sampling point number three.
