Abordaje teórico y metodológico empleado para explicar, prevenir y tratar la violencia psicológica en las relaciones de pareja en América

Abstract

RESUMEN: La presente investigación pretende conocer la manera en que se está abordando el fenómeno de la violencia psicológica en las relaciones de pareja en el contexto americano, buscando una mayor comprensión de este constructo y de las metodologías empleadas para prevenir y tratar tal problemática. El diseño metodológico empleado fue de tipo cualitativo, en el que por medio de una revisión y sistematización de datos bibliográficos existentes se indagó por la definición de violencia psicológica, las bases teóricas que sustentan su origen o mantenimiento y las metodologías empleadas para su abordaje. La información recolectada permitió observar la falta de una definición unánime de lo que es la violencia psicológica, encontrando acuerdos y discrepancias en las definiciones planteadas hasta ahora, se hallan también un sin número de manifestaciones conductuales que hacen parte del fenómeno, y algunas hipótesis explicativas sobre el origen y mantenimiento de esta modalidad de violencia, pero que no se circunscriben a ninguna teoría establecida; se describen algunos instrumentos y estrategias de evaluación, y posteriormente metodologías y actividades empleadas en las intervenciones tanto con víctimas como con victimarios. Finalmente se recomienda continuar investigando sobre el fenómeno, con el fin de elaborar definiciones y planteamientos teóricos más acordes a la población y al contexto, y optar por el trabajo multidisciplinario en cuanto a la prevención e intervención. ABSTRACT: This research aims to know the way in which the phenomenon of psychological violence in relationships is being addressed in the American context, seeking a greater understanding of this construct and the methodologies used to prevent and treat such a problem. The methodological design used was qualitative, in which, through a review and systematization of existing bibliographic data, the definition of psychological violence, the theoretical bases that support its origin or maintenance, and the methodologies used to address it are investigated. The information collected allowed us to observe the lack of a unanimous definition of what psychological violence is, finding agreements and discrepancies in the definitions raised so far, there are also a number of behavioral manifestations that are part of the phenomenon, and some explanatory hypotheses about the origin and maintenance of this modality of violence, but which are not limited to any established theory; it describes some evaluation tools and strategies and finally methodologies and activities used in interventions with both victims and perpetrators. Finally, it is recommended to continue researching the phenomenon, in order to develop definitions and theoretical approaches more in line with the population and the context and opt for multidisciplinary work in terms of prevention and intervention.
