Tejiendo redes: familias, Down y proceso de crianza

Abstract

RESUMEN: el presente proyecto de investigación titulado “Tejiendo redes: familias, Down y proceso de crianza”, tuvo como objetivo identificar los significados que las familias le otorgan a las redes de apoyo social a las que pueden acceder para afrontar la crianza de un niño o niña con síndrome de Down en la ciudad de Medellín. Para lograr el objetivo planteado en el estudio investigativo se trabajó con cinco familias que posibilitaron dar luz a cada uno de los objetivos que guiaron este trabajo, logrando realizar tres capítulos que dieron cuenta de las diferentes redes de apoyo social: familiares, sociales e institucionales a las que acceden y crean las familias según sus necesidades en la crianza de sus hijos, la importancia que le otorgan las familias a las redes que ellas mismas crean como sostén para afrontar el proceso de cuidado y crianza de sus hijos con esta condición y por último unas recomendaciones generales que permitirán fortalecer las redes de apoyo social en los diferentes programas que ofrecen y a la academia que no solo investigue el síndrome Down desde el área de la salud y la educación si no que abra caminos en todo lo relacionado a las redes de apoyo social a familias que tengan miembros con síndrome de Down.

ABSTRACT: the present research project titled "Weaving networks: families, Down and the parenting process", aimed to identify the meanings that families give to the social support networks that they can access to face the upbringing of a child with Down syndrome in the city of Medellin. To achieve the objective set in the research study, we worked with five families that made it possible to give birth to each of the objectives that guided this work, managing to carry out three chapters that gave an account of the different social support networks: family, social and institutional to those that families access and create according to their needs in raising their children, the importance that families give to the networks that they create as support to face the process of caring for and raising their children with this condition, and finally some general recommendations that will make it possible to strengthen the social support networks in the different programs offered by the academy that not only investigates Down syndrome from the area of health and education, but also opens paths in everything related to support networks to families with members with Down syndrome.
