Síntomas de depresión, ansiedad y estrés en personas con aneurisma no roto en Medellín

Abstract

RESUMEN: La presente investigación describe los síntomas de depresión, ansiedad y estrés en siete personas, con un promedio de edad de 48 años, diagnosticadas con un aneurisma cerebral no roto en la ciudad de Medellín. Para esto, se realizó un análisis de antecedentes centrado en cuatro categorías generales como son aneurisma cerebral, depresión, ansiedad y estrés, paso que estuvo seguido de la aplicación de dos instrumentos de evaluación psicológica: Entrevista Neuropsiquiátrica internacional (MINI) y la Escala Abreviada de Depresión, Ansiedad y Estrés (DASS 21). El diseño metodológico de este trabajo se caracteriza por tener un enfoque empírico analítico con un alcance descriptivo y un diseño cuantitativo, además de ser una investigación prospectiva transversal con un muestreo no probabilístico por disponibilidad de casos. Asimismo, este trabajo pretende comprender la importancia del acompañamiento psicológico de esta población debido a que según la literatura, ésta puede ser vulnerable a presentar síntomas de depresión, estrés y ansiedad, lo cual puede afectar la calidad de vida, sin embargo, los resultados obtenidos sobre estos síntomas se presentaron en niveles leves en la mayoría de los casos, excepto en uno de ellos que obtuvo resultados de niveles altos de, aunque no se especifica acerca de ésta.

ABSTRACT: This research describes the symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress in seven people, with an average age of 48 years, diagnosed with an unruptured brain aneurysm in the city of Medellin. For this, a background analysis focused on four general categories such as brain aneurysm, depression, anxiety and stress, which was followed by the application of the following two quantitative data collection techniques: International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI) and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Abbreviated Scale (DASS 21). Therefore, the methodological design of this work is characterized by having an analytical empirical approach with a descriptive scope and a quantitative design, in addition to being cross-sectional prospective research whose method is non-experimental. Likewise, this work aims to understand the importance of psychological support for this population because according to the literature, this population may be vulnerable to present symptoms of depression, stress and anxiety, which can greatly affect their quality of life, however, the results obtained on these symptoms were presented in mild levels in most cases, except in one of them who obtained results of presence of depression, although it is not specified about it. It is important to recognize that there is a need expressed by the population interviewed regarding their desire for a professional psychologist to accompany them, even though the symptoms obtained in most cases were not sufficient to need it.
