El nido vacío: una mirada desde la trayectoria vital de las familias urbanas y rurales

Abstract

RESUMEN: A lo largo de la vida familiar, se atraviesa por diferentes momentos que están marcados por múltiples transformaciones que varían de acuerdo a las particularidades de cada familia. Desde distintas perspectivas y teorías se ha abordado y comprendido a la familia por etapas específicas que se ubican desde la conformación de la pareja y la familia, hasta la etapa terminal de la misma; éstas concepciones se dan de manera lineal y reduccionista, ya que relacionan la edad de los integrantes de la familia con las etapas que se viven o “deben” vivir de manera generalizada. Por lo anterior, y con la idea de problematizar estas miradas y comprensiones desde el ciclo vital familiar, esta investigación tiene la pretensión de conocer y comprender la manera en que cuatro familias -dos de contexto urbano y dos de contexto rural- vivencian y significan el momento vital llamado “nido vacío”, caracterizado por el egreso de los hijos del hogar y el reencuentro personal o conyugal de los padres, dejando de reducir este momento a una crisis y dando la posibilidad de que las mismas familias lo reconozcan y comprendan desde sus particularidades, en las que las oportunidades y los nuevos comienzos tienen lugar.

ABSTRACT: Throughout the family life, one goes through different moments that are marked by multiple transformations that vary according to the particularities of each family. From different perspectives and theories, the family has been approached and understood by specific stages that are located from the formation of the couple and the family, to the terminal stage of the same; These conceptions occur in a linear and reductionist way, since they relate the age of the members of the family with the stages that are lived or "should" live in a generalized way. Due to the above, and with the idea of problematizing these views and understandings from the family life cycle, this research aims to know and understand the way in which four families -two from an urban context and two from a rural context- experience and signify the vital moment called “empty nest”, characterized by the departure of the children from home and the personal or conjugal reunion of the parents, by reducing this moment to a crisis and giving the possibility for the same families to recognize and understand it from their particularities, in which opportunities and new beginnings take place.
