Ennegrecer el feminismo : análisis del discurso del feminismo blanco y su afectación en la experiencia de vida de tres mujeres afrodescendientes de Medellín

Abstract

RESUMEN Las mujeres que participan en el movimiento feminista blanco, en su mayoría crean y articulan la teoría feminista. Según Rafia Zakaria (2021) el feminismo blanco, es una corriente de pensamiento que busca homogeneizar las experiencias de las sujetas que hacen parte del mismo y sus luchas se basan en las demandas que afectan a las mujeres blancas. Debido a esto, históricamente, las mujeres negras han luchado para fragmentar los presupuestos de normalidad. Esta investigación es de carácter cualitativo y tiene un enfoque comunicativo, por lo que se aborda la teoría de los Estudios Culturales y los Estudios Feministas originarios de la Escuela de Birmingham. La recopilación de datos se realizó a través del método análisis del discurso, para categorizar las experiencias de vida de las tres mujeres afrodescendientes habitantes de Medellín. Además de contemplar hechos históricos y eventos contemporáneos, con el fin de evidenciar el impacto del discurso en la realidad de las mujeres afrodescendientes.

ABSTRAC Within the white feminist movement, women predominantly shape and articulate feminist theory, positioning themselves as dominant voices in the discourse. Unfortunately, this dominance often comes at the expense of understanding the colonial nature and the intricate impacts of class and political status within a racist, sexist, and capitalist system, as pointed out by Rafia Zakaria (2021). White feminism tends to homogenize experiences and struggles, prioritizing issues that predominantly affect white women. Consequently, black women historically grapple with the need to challenge assumptions of normality.

In this qualitative research, adopting a communicative approach, we draw upon theories from Cultural Studies and Feminist Studies, particularly those originating from the Birmingham School. Employing discourse analysis as the method of data collection, we aim to categorize the life experiences of three Afrodescendant women residing in Medellín. This research not only considers historical events but also delves into contemporary occurrences to illustrate the tangible impact of discourse on the reality of afrodescendant women.
