El valor documental de los archivos fotográficos, una aproximación a la reconstrucción de la memoria colectiva del municipio de San Pedro de Urabá a través de álbumes familiares

Abstract

RESUMEN: El presente proyecto de investigación se centra en la fotografía como un documento esencial para la reconstrucción de la memoria colectiva de los habitantes del municipio de San Pedro de Urabá mediante la implementación de procesos archivísticos, como la identificación, recopilación, clasificación, digitalización y organización del material, dando pautas para la creación de una colección digital que no solo conserva estas imágenes, sino que también las hace accesibles para las generaciones actuales y futuras. Además, se hace una reflexión profunda sobre el valor de la fotografía como documento de archivo explicando que más allá de ser un solo un registro visual, estas poseen la capacidad de transmitir información por sí mismas, evocando emociones y sirviendo como una herramienta poderosa y no auxiliar para reconstruir memorias individuales y colectivas. Su análisis y preservación permiten conectar historias personales con el contexto histórico del municipio, facilitando una comprensión más amplia de su evolución social y cultural. Al mismo tiempo, se abre un espacio de diálogo en torno a la importancia de preservar el patrimonio fotográfico como un recurso clave para fortalecer la identidad comunitaria.

ABSTRACT: The present research project focuses on photography as an essential document for the reconstruction of the collective memory of the inhabitants of the municipality of San Pedro de Urabá through the implementation of archival processes such as the identification, collection, classification, digitization, and organization of the material, providing guidelines for the creation of a digital collection that not only preserves these images but also makes them accessible to current and future generations. Additionally, a deep reflection is made on the value of photography as an archival document, explaining that beyond being merely a visual record, photographs have the ability to convey information by themselves, evoke emotions, and serve as a powerful and not auxiliary tool for reconstructing individual and collective memories. Their analysis and preservation allow personal stories to connect with the historical context of the municipality, facilitating a broader understanding of its social and cultural evolution. At the same time, it opens a space for dialogue on the importance of preserving photographic heritage as a key resource for strengthening community identity.
