Pobladores sitiados entre la violencia y la reconfiguración territorial : migración transfronteriza Colombia-Ecuador

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este artículo analiza el crecimiento del desplazamiento forzado de colombianos hacia Ecuador en el último decenio y la importancia que adquiere la frontera en función de la dinámica de la guerra. En este contexto, en primer lugar, cuestiona el tratamiento predominantemente militar que convierte la migración transfronteriza en un asunto de seguridad; en segundo lugar, subraya la emergencia del carácter forzado de la migración colombiana transfronteriza; y en tercer lugar, examina algunas de las implicaciones de este proceso sobre la población afectada.

ABSTRACT: This article analyzes the growth of forced displacement of Colombians to Ecuador in the last decade and the importance that the border has taken on, as a function of the dynamics of war. Within this context, the article firstly questions the predominantly military treatment which turns cross-border migration into a safety issue; secondly, it highlights the emergence of the forced nature of the Colombian cross-border migration, and, lastly, it examines some of the implications of this process on the affected population.
