Resumen : In Colombia, the mining sector has had great importance for the national economy, every government has implemented strategies to encourage him in the country, a fact that has generated national and multinational companies, apply for and obtain mining rights to develop large projects in various parts of territory. Antioquia is one of the departments that more produces gold and much of its soil is entitled to explore and exploit minerals, however, this situation is not supported by all its inhabitants and some sectors of communities who disagree with this outlook they have set up social resistance and speeches that say "No to Mining", which have formed multiple stakeholders to create mechanisms that enable them to defend their territories from mining activities. This research analyzes how the process of social mobilization occurs against mining in the town of Jericó, with Quebradona Mining Project operated by AngloGold Ashanti, which is in exploration stage, considering the actors that are part of mobilization, their motivations for participating and their activities to show their dissatisfaction with the project. The ethnographic case is approached from the perspective of political ecology and environmental conflicts, where it is evident how the incursion of mining was established in a conflict that has brought changes in the social life of the municipality, and where it has established a mobilization social, as a mechanism of resistance to defend the territory.
