Reformismo y economía militar en la Nueva Granada durante el siglo XVIII

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Àis study focuses on the relationship between the military reforms of the New Granada in the 18th century and on military administration, including its expenses. Furthermore, it analyzes the relationship between the fiscal and militar administration and the defence objectives of the Viceroyalty of New Granada. Àe main idea is to set up the political and administrative reasons why the New grenada became one of the most important geopolitical territories in the Caribbean during the 18th century. It also analyzes connections between military reforms and taxes.

RESUMEN: Este artículo investiga la relación entre las reformas militares del siglo XVIII en Nueva Granada y la administración militar, incluyendo los gastos. Igualmente, analiza las relaciones entre la estructura de la administración fiscal-militar y los objetivos de defensa del virreinato de Nueva Granada. La idea principal es establecer las bases políticas y administrativas que convirtieron al territorio de Nueva Granada en uno de los enclaves geopolíticos más importantes del Caribe durante el siglo XVIII, describiendo los elementos que conectan las reformas militares con la fiscalidad militar.
