Jóvenes y cultura de la criminalidad : biografía etnográfica. Exploración de los mecanismos de reproducción cultural en jóvenes de Medellín

Abstract

RESUMEN: La relación entre jóvenes y criminalidad ha sido objeto de numerosos y voluminosos estudios. Medellín, desde los 90s, ha sido foco de reflexión sobre esta relación. Estos estudios se han centrado en conocer las raíces y las causas que han llevado a que los jóvenes hagan parte del mundo de la criminalidad, pero poco se han centrado en estudiar los mecanismos de reproducción cultural de este fenómeno que lo convierten en un fenómeno situado, estable y duradero. Este texto explica la necesidad de estudiar la relación joven-criminalidad como un fenómeno cultural, siendo este, la primera reflexión para comenzar a entender los mecanismos que hacen que este fenómeno se reproduzca situadamente a través del tiempo y las generaciones. Este acercamiento pretende hacer un llamado a la actualización de las reflexiones académicas sobre la relación jóvenes y criminalidad y el por qué éstas, se han quedado cortas para entender este fenómeno. Las reflexiones de este texto son resultado de una exploración bibliográfica que conforma el corpus justificativo de una investigación de corte etnográfico/biográfico que estoy realizando como trabajo de grado para el título de Antropología.

ABSTRACT: The relationship between youth and crime has been the subject of numerous and voluminous studies. Medellín, since the 90s, has been a focus of reflection on this relationship. These studies have focused on knowing the roots and causes that have led young people to become part of the world of crime, but little have focused on studying the mechanisms of cultural reproduction of this phenomenon that make it a situated phenomenon, stable and durable. This text explains the need to study the youth-crime relationship as a cultural phenomenon, this being the first reflection to begin to understand the mechanisms that make this phenomenon reproduce situationally through time and generations. This approach aims to call for the updating of academic reflections on the relationship between young people and criminality and why they have still fallen short of understanding this phenomenon. The reflections in this text are the result of a bibliographic exploration that makes up the supporting corpus of an ethnographic / biographical research that I am doing as a graduate work for the Anthropology degree.
