La cultura fitness contemporánea desde una perspectiva sociológica

Abstract

RESUMEN: Apartadó es un municipio ubicado en la subregión de Urabá perteneciente al departamento de Antioquia, es el más poblado de esta zona y conocido por sus actividades comerciales, empresas nacionales e internacionales lo cual, hace al municipio muy atractivo para la inversión de capital. No es la excepción que la del mercado fitness llegue al territorio, hoy por hoy grandes gimnasios de cadena están presentes revelando el interés que tiene la población por el ejercicio físico, principalmente los jóvenes de 18-25 años. Por lo tanto, esta investigación trata de determinar si las prácticas realizadas en la cultura fitness por estos jóvenes del municipio, están orientadas realmente a la salud del individuo o a la apariencia estética de su cuerpo, para encajar y mantener “mejores” relaciones sociales.

ABSTRACT: Apartadó is a municipality located in the subregion of Urabá belonging to the department of Antioquia, it is the most populated in this area and known for its commercial activities, national and international companies which makes the municipality very attractive for capital investment; it is not the exception that the fitness market reaches the territory, today large chain gyms are present revealing the interest that the population has for physical exercise, mainly young people aged 18-25. Therefore, this research tries to determine if the practices carried out in the fitness culture by these young people from the municipality are really oriented towards the health of the individual or the aesthetic appearance of their body, to fit in and maintain "better" social relationships.
