Análisis y mejoramiento del tiempo de servicio de higiene hospitalario en el área de cirugía de la Fundación Hospital San Vicente de Paul – Rionegro

Abstract

RESUMEN : Teniendo en cuenta la importancia de cuantificar la productividad de los servicios y establecer un tiempo estándar que sirva como medida de desempeño para para la toma de decisiones encaminadas a la reducción del tiempo y los recursos económicos destinados a estos, se expone un estudio de tiempos realizado en el área de cirugía de uno de los hospitales más importantes de Colombia y Latinoamérica, la Fundación Hospital San Vicente de Paul - Rionegro, cuya finalidad se centra en definir el tiempo estándar que requiere el servicio de higiene hospitalaria en los quirófanos del área, el cual determine la base para la estandarización del tiempo de servicio. Para tal fin se desarrolló una metodología de cuatro pasos que incluye caracterización del área, toma de tiempos, análisis de resultados y conclusiones. Como resultado se logró determinar que el tiempo estándar del proceso rutinario completo es de 22.8 minutos, además se identificó que cuatro actividades de limpieza (limpiar colchoneta y base, trapear, limpiar mesas y limpiar canecas), de las 13 que se identificaron inicialmente, abarcan el 69% del tiempo total de aseo en el quirófano, lo cual les da prelación en el momento que se quiera intervenir el proceso para reducir el tiempo del servicio.

ABSTRACT : Taking into account the importance of quantifying the productivity of the services and establishing a standard time that serves as a performance measure for making decisions aimed at reducing the time and economic resources allocated to them, a time study carried out in the surgery area of one of the most important hospitals in Colombia and Latin America, Fundación Hospital San Vicente de Paul - Rionegro, is presented, Its purpose is to define the standard time required by the hospital hygiene service in the operating rooms of the area, which will determine the basis for the standardization of the service time. To this end, a four-step methodology was developed that includes the characterization of the area, time taking, analysis of results, proposals for improvement, recommendations and conclusions. As a result, it was determined that the standard time for the complete routine process is 22.8 minutes, and it was also identified that four cleaning activities (cleaning mats and base, mopping, cleaning tables and cleaning bins), out of the 13 that were initially identified, account for 69% of the total cleaning time in the operating room, which gives them priority when it is necessary to intervene in the process to reduce the time of the service.
