Rasgos semióticos del cementerio de San Pedro de Urabá

Abstract

RESUMEN: En el presente trabajo de investigación se resolvieron cuatro objetivos que ayudaron analizar el objeto de estudio desde una perspectiva semiótica. A través de ellos se realizó un análisis a la memoria histórica del municipio de San Pedro de Urabá, para comprender por medio de la historia lo que conlleva la forma en como están construidas y repartidas las tumbas del cementerio además de la identificación de las estructuras arquitectónicas, estéticas y simbólicas que se encuentran inmersas en él y las razones por las cuales algunas de las tumbas contienen diseños muy propios y diferentes a las demás. Fueron necesarios los anteriores objetivos, para lograr identificar la representación simbólica que tienen y le atribuyen los pobladores del municipio de San Pedro de Urabá al cementerio de su localidad. Lo anterior, se resolvió a través de una ruta metodológica basada en el interaccionismo simbólico, con un enfoque cualitativo e interpretativo y un alcance de carácter exploratorio, descriptivo e interpretativo. Además, los instrumentos que se utilizaron fueron la observación y la entrevista profunda los cuales a través de sus herramientas aportaron al estudio del análisis de esas significaciones y representaciones. En la formulación de conclusiones y hallazgos se identificó que para los pobladores, el cementerio de San Pedro de Urabá denota la diversidad de estatus sociales que se encuentran dentro de él y que algunas de las tumbas representan el poder y alcance económico que tuvieron en vida los sepultados. También de una forma general, el cementerio representa un debate de tierras y clases sociales, incluso después de la muerte.

ABSTRACT: In the present research work, four objectives were resolved that helped analyze the object of study from a semiotic perspective. Through them, an analysis of the historical memory of the municipality of San Pedro de Urabá was carried out, to understand through history what the way in which the tombs of the cemetery are built and distributed, as well as the identification of the architectural structures. , aesthetic and symbolic that are immersed in it and the reasons why some of the tombs contain very own designs and different from the others. The previous objectives were necessary, in order to identify the symbolic representation that the inhabitants of the municipality of San Pedro de Urabá have and attribute to their local cemetery. The foregoing was resolved through a methodological route based on symbolic interactionism, with a qualitative and interpretive approach and an exploratory, descriptive and interpretive scope. In addition, the instruments used were observation and in-depth interview which, through their tools, contributed to the study of the analysis of these meanings and representations. In the formulation of conclusions and findings, it was identified that for the inhabitants, the cemetery of San Pedro de Urabá denotes the diversity of social status found within it and that some of the tombs represent the power and economic scope that the inhabitants had in life.
