Propuesta teórico-metodológico para el estudio de cremaciones humanas de interés arqueológico en Colombia

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo de grado presenta la estructuración de una propuesta teórica y metodológica para el estudio y análisis de restos óseo cremados con el fin de facilitar a los arqueólogos abordar desde la recolección en campo, el análisis de laboratorio y la construcción de hipótesis e interpretaciones del gesto funerario. Es importante plantear que, existen pocas propuestas a nivel nacional (Colombia) de un manual que agrupe los métodos y técnicas adecuados que permita a los investigadores aprovechar al máximo la información bioarqueológica, social y cultural que generan estos sitios propiciando así que el material óseo por sus aracterísticas de fragmentación y procesos tafonómicos no sean desechados. La metodología utilizada es una revisión bibliográfica que da cuenta de investigadores que han realizado análisis, pruebas e indagaciones sobre el tema de estudio. El trabajo cuenta con un apartado de campo, allí se expone que se debe realizar cuando se registra un hallazgo de material óseo con evidencia de termoalteración. Hay un apartado con la propuesta de laboratorio y otro que da pistas sobre la interpretación social del contexto funerario.

ABSTRACT: This final project performes an organization of a theoretical and methodological proposal for the study and analysis of cremated bone remains in order to facilitate archaeologists from field collection, laboratory analysis and the construction of hypotheses and interpretations of the funerary gesture. As a matter of fact, there are few proposals at the national level (Colombia) for a manual that gathers the appropriate methods and techniques that allow researchers to make the most of the bioarchaeological, social and cultural information generated by these sites, thus promoting the bone material by its fragmentation characteristics and taphonomic processes are not discarded. The methodology used is a bibliographic review that informs of researchers who have carried out analyses, tests and inquiries on the subject of study. The work has a field section, there it is stated that it must be carried out when a finding of bone material with evidence of thermal alteration is recorded. This project has a section with the laboratory proposal and another one that gives clues about the social interpretation of the funerary context.
