Editorial Minerva (1912-1975) : de pequeños trabajos tipográficos a una colección sin precedentes

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo pretende dar luces sobre qué publicó y cómo funcionó la Editorial Minerva, una empresa reconocida principalmente por haber publicado la Selección Samper Ortega de Literatura Colombiana pero que además es responsable de muchos otros libros importantes para la historia literaria del país. Por otra parte, se realiza aquí un análisis de la narrativa breve publicada por Minerva, intentando saber cuáles fueron sus apuestas por este género y qué autores se encargó de difundir. Para la realización de este trabajo resultó de vital importancia la consulta de archivo y la reconstrucción del catálogo editorial de esta casa editora, así como el análisis desde la perspectiva teórica de la sociología de la literatura, específicamente de obras como La institución de la literatura, de Jacques Dubois, y de estudios teóricos y metodológicos de historia del libro e historia de la edición, como los propuestos por Pierre Bordieu, Martin Doré y Michael Bhaskar.

ABSTRACT: This paper intends to cast light on what published and how the Editorial Minerva worked, an enterprise mostly known for being the ones who published The Samper Ortega Selection of Colombian Literature but also responsible of many other important books for the country’s literary history. On the other hand, an analysis of the short narrative published by Minerva will be performed here, attempting to identify their incursions in this genre and which authors they divulged. For the making of this research it was of the upmost importance to browse the archive and the reconstruction of the editorial catalogue of this publishing house, as well as the aid from theoretical perspective of sociology of literature, specifically of works as The Literary Institution by Jacques Dubois, and theoretical and methodological studies of history of the book and history of editing, as proposed by Pierre Bordieu, Martin Doré and Michael Bhaskar.
