Psicociencias, autoayuda y ethos neoliberal

Abstract

RESUMEN: El presente artículo analiza la manera como la corriente de la autoayuda es alimentada por las psicociencias y, al mismo tiempo, cómo contribuye a la formación de la subjetividad promovida por la racionalidad del gobierno neoliberal. El método seguido es la historia del presente, de inspiración foucaultiana. Los ejes analíticos que guiaron el estudio fueron la subjetivación, el gobierno y la ética. Los resultados hallados indican que: 1) la corriente de la autoayuda es anterior al neoliberalismo; 2) el Neoliberalismo le dio un nuevo sentido a la autoayuda, convirtiéndola en una tecnología de gobierno y 3) las psicociencias alimentan y legitiman la tecnología de la autoayuda. Se concluye, en general, que el sujeto de la autoayuda desarrolla toda una posición ética que resulta concordante con la propuesta ética del neoliberalismo.

ABSTRACT: This paper analyzes how psychoscience feeds the current of self-help and, at the same time, contributes to the formation of the subjectivity promoted by the rationality of the eoliberal government. The method used in this study was the history of the present, which draws inspiration from Foucault. The analytical axes guiding this study were subjectivation, government and ethics. The results show that: (1) the current of self-help predates neoliberalism; (2) neoliberalism gave a new meaning to self-help, turning it into a government technology and (3) psychoscience feeds and legitimizes self-help technology. We conclude that the subject of self-help develops a complete ethical stance which is consistent with the ethical proposal of neoliberalism.
