Entre lo ancestral y lo poshumano: la pregunta por el ser humano en Iris (2014) de Edmundo Paz Soldán

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este artículo ofrece un análisis sobre la poshumanización y el lugar que ocupa lo ancestral en la novela Iris de Edmundo Paz Soldán. Se estudian las complejas relaciones que emergen entre la resistencia política y cultural, las religiones, diferentes formas de liderazgo y asuntos psicoemocionales. Aparece entonces, la pregunta filosófica sobre el ser humano a partir del futuro distópico que proyecta la novela, y las dinámicas que en el mundo narrado repercuten en la humanidad.

ABSTRACT: This article offers an analysis of post-humanization and the place of the ancestral in Edmundo Paz Soldán’s novel Iris. It explores the complex relationships that emerge between political and cultural resistance, religions, different forms of leadership, and psycho-emotional issues. From the novel ́s projected dystopian future and the dynamics that impact humanity in the narrated world, finally arises the philosophical question about mankind.
