Resumen : Karl Marx: Money, Capital and Crises. The aim of this paper is to make an overview of Marx‟s economic theory. The fundamental problems of this theory are related to three studies: the theory of value, theory of capital and surplus, and theory of money. The theory of value is built on the double character of the labor: concrete private labor that produces value of use and abstract social labor that produces value. The analysis of capital and surplus is based on the existence of a particular merchandise: the labor force, which produces a surplus hoarded by the capital, since its use in production allows the creation of a value which is greater than the one obtained through the exchange. The theory of money, once we discarded the impossible demonstration that money is a particular merchandise, we conceived this theory focused on two concepts: the unit of account (“ideal” money) and the means of purchase (“real” money). This theory gives answers to the questions left aside by the theory of value and the theory of capital and surplus.
