El mercado de las almas versus el proyecto moderno instruccionista en Antioquia (1903-1930)

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este texto se deriva de una investigación en desarrollo en el Doctorado en Educación de la Universidad de Antioquia, acerca del proceso de apropiación de la Ley 39 de 1903 en la instrucción pública en Antioquia entre 1903 y 1930, ley nacional que transformaría el sistema educativo regional. El artículo gira entorno a las siguientes preguntas: ¿cómo y bajo qué circunstancias particulares se dio la apropiación de dicha Ley en Antioquia en la instrucción pública?, ¿qué aspectos de esta Ley fueron apropiados y fueron asunto sobresaliente en los documentos de la Secretaría de Instrucción Pública de Antioquia? Y, ¿qué aspectos de esta Ley fueron recepcionados, rechazados y debatidos por intelectuales de la región? Planteamos una historia cultural que analiza aspectos activos en los procesos apropiadores. Es una investigación de tipo histórico-pedagógico basada en un análisis documental.

ABSTARCT: This text is derived from an historical investigation into thedevelopment of the Doctorate in Education program of the University of Antioquia, around the time of the appropriation of Law 39 (regarding public instruction in Antioquia between the years 1903 and 1930), a national law that would transform the regional educational system. The article turns around the following questions: What were the particular circumstances that allowed the appropriation of Law 39 into the Antioquia public instructional system? What aspects of the Law were appropriate, and important in the existing documents of the office of the Secretary of Public Instruction of Antioquia? What aspects of this Law were received, rejected, and debated by intellectuals of the region? The article presents a cultural history that analyzes aspects of the appropriation process. It is an historic-pedagogical investigation based on documentary analysis.
