Resignificación simbólica y espiritualidad en el consumo ritual de hongos psilocibios, ciudad de Medellín y sus alrededores

Abstract

RESUMEN: La presente es una investigación de tipo descriptiva realizada desde el año 2021 hasta el 2023 en la ciudad de Medellín y sus alrededores urbanos y rurales, sobre el consumo de hongos psilocibios de forma ritual o ceremonial. Su objetivo principal es identificar las resignificaciones simbólicas asociadas a lo espiritual en las personas que asisten a estas prácticas, así como las motivaciones y los factores que las atraviesan. Se describen también estas ya no tan nuevas ceremonias, además de quienes son los encargados de dirigirlas. Se parte del contenido teórico antropológico de los símbolos, espiritualidad y consumo de enteógenos, y se recogen los relatos tanto de guías, colaboradores y asistentes. Se abre la discusión sobre la forma y el contexto en que estos se dan, su posible efectividad y la hibridación que se encuentra en estos espacios, y al final se concluye con que el New Age, la búsqueda de la sacralización del yo a que lleva ella lleva, la pérdida de credibilidad en las instituciones y los medios de comunicación, son los principales factores contribuyentes a la cada vez mayor emergencia de este tipo de actividades.

ABSTRACT: This is a descriptive investigation carried out from 2021 to 2023, in Medellín city and its urban and rural surroundings, about the consumption of psilocybin mushrooms in a ritual or ceremonial way. Its main objective is to identify the symbolic resignifications associated with the spiritual in people who attend these kinds of spaces, as well as the motivations and factors that go through them. These not so new ceremonies are also described, as well as who is in charge of directing them. It starts from the anthropological theoretical content of symbols, spirituality and consumption of entheogens, and the stories of both guides, collaborators and assistants are collected. The discussion on the way and the context in which these occur, their possible effectiveness and the hybridization found in these spaces is opened and at the end it is concluded that the new age phenomena, the search for the sacralization of the self to which this phenomena leads the loss of credibility in the institutions and the mass media, are the main contributing factors to the increasing emergence of this type of activities.
