De la expresión figural a la letra

Abstract

RESUMEN: El presente trabajo realiza un ejercicio explicativo que, articulando conjeturas clínicas y un trabajo teórico documental, busca determinar si en el garabato infantil se exterioriza algo del orden de la “letra” (Lacan). Revisa históricamente la literatura psicoanalítica para situar las diferentes concepciones acerca de las producciones gráficas infantiles, incluyendo especialmente el garabato. Define y selecciona las proposiciones freudianas, posfreudianas y lacanianas, evaluándolas y cotejándolas entre sí y con aportes de la lingüística y la filosofía del lenguaje, con el fin de identificar y justificar la incidencia y la pertinencia de la letra en esos grafismos. Se logra así hallar coincidencias entre los planteamientos psicoanalíticos acerca de la autonomía semiótica del dibujo, las revisiones a la noción de iconismo hechas en la lingüística contemporánea, las críticas al privilegio de lo verbal en la clínica psicoanalítica –en la misma dirección de las derridianas al fonocentrismo– y la evolución del concepto de la letra en Lacan. En las diferentes perspectivas se tiene en cuenta que los trazos, rasgos o marcas –en lugar de constituirse por un sistema o código previo– se establecen en el límite de lo informe, más allá de la significación o el sentido; cercanos, por tanto, a lo que hace borde o litoral.

ABSTRACT: The present work carries out an explanatory exercise that, articulating clinical conjectures and documentary theoretical work, seeks to determine if something of the order of the “letter” (Lacan) is externalized in children's scribbling. It historically reviews psychoanalytic literature to situate the different conceptions of children's graphic productions, especially including scribbling. It defines and selects Freudian, post-Freudian and Lacanian propositions, evaluating and comparing them with each other and with contributions from linguistics and the philosophy of language, to identify and justify the incidence and relevance of the letter in these graphics. In this way, it is possible to find coincidences between the psychoanalytic approaches about the semiotic autonomy of drawing, the revisions to the notion of iconism made in contemporary linguistics, the criticisms of the privilege of the verbal in the psychoanalytic clinic –in the same direction as the derridians of phonocentrism– and the evolution of the concept of the letter in Lacan. In the different perspectives, it is taken into account that the traits, strokes or marks –instead of being constituted by a previous system or code– are established at the limit of the formless, beyond meaning or sense; therefore, close to what makes a border or littoral.
