Análisis de transformación de la cobertura vegetal a causa de minería en la subregión del Bajo Cauca Antioqueño utilizando imágenes satelitales Landsat. Semestre de Industria

Abstract

RESUMEN : La minería en el Bajo Cauca y en general en el departamento de Antioquia es una actividad de suma importancia social y ambiental, por lo tanto, se requiere de un análisis a profundidad. En este caso, se trató sobre la minería de aluvión y las repercusiones que tiene en el cambio de la vegetación natural de la zona. Para esto se utilizaron imágenes satelitales (Landsat) en los años 2022 y 2023, la herramienta de procesamiento ArcGIS Pro, material bibliográfico y así mismo la información suministrada por el CASCDH. Se tuvo en cuenta la variabilidad temporal e interestacional para hacer las respectivas comparaciones en el NDVI de la zona y de las áreas en las que la minería disminuyó, se mantuvo o aumentó. Luego de realizar el respectivo análisis, se pudo concluir que la minería en este periodo de tiempo disminuyó en cuatro de los seis municipios que conforman la subregión del Bajo Cauca, siendo las decisiones gubernamentales de frenar y/o reanudar los operativos contra la minería ilegal de la zona una de las posibles razones.

ABSTRACT : Mining in Bajo Cauca and in general in the department of Antioquia is an activity of utmost social and environmental importance, therefore, an in-depth analysis is required. In this case, it was about alluvial mining and the repercussions it has on the change of the natural vegetation of the area. For this, satellite images (Landsat) in the years 2022 and 2023, the ArcGIS Pro processing tool, bibliographic material and the information provided by the CASCDH were used. Temporal and interseasonal variability was taken into account to make the respective comparisons in the NDVI of the area and the areas in which mining decreased, remained or increased. After carrying out the respective analysis, it was concluded that mining in this period of time decreased in four of the six municipalities that make up the Bajo Cauca subregion, being the government decisions to stop and/or resume operations against illegal mining of the area one of the possible reasons.
