El descubrimiento de Bromeliophila helenae Gradst. (Marchantiophyta, Lejeuneaceae) en el norte de los Andes de Colombia

Abstract

RESUMEN: Reportamos la presencia de Bromeliophila helenae Gradst. al norte de los Andes colombianos. La especie fue previamente reportada en los Tepuis Venezolanos y las Antillas Menores. Se describen por primera vez los óleocuerpos del género. Incluimos una descripción detallada de su hábitat y realizamos una comparación con su especie hermana Bromeliophila natans (Steph.) R. M. Schust. hallada en la Restinga Brasileña.

ABSTRACT: The discovery of Bromeliophila helenae Gradst. (Marchantiophyta, Lejeuneaceae) in the northern Andes of Colombia. We report the discovery in Colombia of the rare liverwort Bromeliophila helenae Gradst., a species previously known from only two locali ties, one in the Guayana Highland of Venezuela and the other in the Lesser Antilles (Dominica). The oilbodies of the genus Bromeliophila are described for the first time. We also provide a description of the habitat of B. helenae and a comparison with the sister species B. natans (Steph.) R. M. Schust. founded in the Brazilian restinga.
