Representaciones estudiantiles sobre nutrición humana como modelo estudiantil inicial para referencia didáctica

Abstract

RESUMEN: El objetivo es proponer el concepto de “Modelo ONEPSI” (Gutiérrez, 2014) como herramienta didáctica para inferir un “Modelo Estudiantil inicial – MEi”, para obtener un punto de referencia didáctico; independientemente de la naturaleza u origen de las ideas espontáneas como acto de conocimiento. El potencial del ONEPSI se probó con representaciones de alumnos de primaria sobre nutrición humana, reportadas en algunos estudios entre 1985 y 2009. El MEi obtenido explicita que la nutrición está centrada en modificar el alimento en la boca, seguir una trayectoria hacia el estómago y ahí absorberse o desecharse. Pero este modelo se debilita al imaginar lo que sucede a partir del estómago –ya sea para asimilarse o expulsarse-, siendo evidente la ausencia de entidades biológicas -con sus propiedades- y que tienen que ver con el comportamiento físico-químico de las substancias, lo cual sugiere tener un criterio fundamentado para decidir qué enseñar y sugerir cómo hacerlo.

ABSTARCT: The objective is to propose the concept of "ONEPSI Model" (Gutiérrez, 2014) as a didactic tool to infer an "initial Student Model - MEi", to obtain a didactic reference point, regardless of the nature or origin of spontaneous ideas as an act of knowledge. The potential of the ONEPSI was tested with representations of primary students on human nutrition, reported in some studies between 1985 and 2009. The obtained MEi explicitly states that nutrition is focused on modifying the food in the mouth, following a path to the stomach and there absorbed or discarded. But this model is weakened by the absence of biological entities and their properties that have to do with the physical chemistry of substances to be converted to nutrients; suggesting that these features of nutrition in children’s minds require criteria in relation to what and how to teach such issues.
