Resumen : In the last years, the management processes have had great importance to the public universities, and in particular, the Strategic Planning. Participatory planning becomes an imperative that complicates the process of construction to future and the participation of the university community has become relevant as an element of legitimacy and governance. Hence, the present research seeks to Understand the disputes between teachers and the strategic management bodies (president and high university council) in the construction of the Strategic Bases of the 2017-2027 development plan of the University of Antioquia, from the category of governmentality developed by Michel Foucault and The theory of the social fields of Pierre Bourdieu. Two theoretical references will be key in the investigation, on the one hand from Michel Foucault, the planning process is understood as a government technology in the framework of control societies and security dispositive. On the other hand, the University, seen as a field of contention from Pierre Bourdieu's theory, invites us to think about the tensions and how the different actors struggle to impose their point of view and gain a better position in the field. Several research techniques such as participant observation, document review, semi-structured interviews were used. This made it possible to demonstrate in the university network of practices in an environment conducive to participation, where the framework of legitimacy and governmentality promote a rationality that seeks to construct constructive provisions to resolve university disputes in the long term. The results embodied in the Strategic Bases are the product of disputes and therefore it is in those disputes that the future is defined, hence, that they do not necessarily co-exist with the prevailing logic of neoliberalism and mark points of escape to this global rationality.
