Identidad y alteridad en la historia presente de Guatapé

Abstract

RESUMEN: La pregunta principal de este trabajo es por la identidad en Guatapé y su construcción a partir de la relación con el otro. Concretamente, me cuestiono por la manera como los habitantes de Guatapé han vinculado su identidad con la alteridad de los turistas. Mi objetivo es analizar el papel que ha desempeñado el otro (forastero, turista, extranjero) en la configuración de lo que los habitantes de Guatapé nombran como identidad, luego de que el turismo se instaurara como la principal actividad económica del municipio (sobre todo desde los noventas). Para ello, será necesario estudiar el papel que ha tenido el turismo en la transformación social y cultural de Guatapé, examinar la relación de los habitantes de Guatapé con sus referentes culturales tradicionales (zócalos principalmente, pero también Piedra y represa) e indagar por la relación que tiene la comunidad con los turistas y extranjeros, y por la imagen que han construido de ellos como otros.

ABSTRACT: The main question of this investigation is for the identity in Guatapé and its construction based on the relationship with the other. Specifically, I question the way in which the inhabitants of Guatapé have linked their identity with the otherness of tourists. My objective is to analyze the role played by the other (stranger, tourist, foreigner) in the configuration of what the inhabitants of Guatapé name as identity, after tourism was established as the main economic activity of the municipality (especially since the nineties). For this, it will be necessary to study the role that tourism has played in the social and cultural transformation of Guatapé, examine the relationship of the inhabitants of Guatapé with their traditional cultural references (mainly zócalos, but also Stone and dam) and investigate the relationship that the community has with tourists and foreigners, and for the image they have built of them like others.
