Ictiofauna y actividad pesquera en la microcuenca del río Chajeradó, Atrato Medio (Colombia)

Abstract

RESUMEN: Con el fin de caracterizar la ictiofauna y describir algunos aspectos de la actividad pesquera en la microcuenca del rió Chajeradó, se muestrearon dos ciénagas, tres ríos y cuatro quebradas entre noviembre y diciembre de 1995. En total se capturaron veintiocho especies, pertenecientes a cinco órdenes y catorce familias. El 21.4% de las especies se encontraron exclusivamente en corrientes menores, 14.3% en los ríos y 10.7% en las ciénagas. Los 91 indígenas de la comunidad de Chajeradó practican la pesca con anzuelo y flecha en ríos y quebradas. Las veinte personas de la comunidad negra de Tadía pescan con trasmallo en las ciénagas y en las bocas de los grandes ríos. Los indígenas y negros realizan la actividad pesquera dentro del límite territorial de cada comunidad. Las especies más importantes para la comercialización son Prochilodus magdalenae y Hoplias malabaricus. Un 68.5% de los peces comerciales capturados no tenían la talla mínima de madurez sexual.

ABSTRACT: With the goal of characterizing the ichtiofauna and describing certain aspects of the fishery activities in the Chajeradó river micro-basin, two lagoons, three rivers and four streams were sampled between November and December 1995. A total of twenty-eight species, belonging to five orders and fourteen families, were captured. Of these, 21.4% were found exclusively in streams, 14.3% in rivers and 10.7% in lagoons. Ninety-one indigenous people of the Chajeradó community fish with overshot and sag in the rivers and streams. The twelve people of the Tadía afro-american community fish with seines in the lagoons and mouths of large rivers. Indigenouss and afro-american people conduct their fishery activities inside of the territorial limits of each community. The most important species for commerce are Prochilodus magdalenae and Hoplias malabaricus 68.5% of the commercial fishes captured did not have the minimum size for sexual maturity.
