El Banco Agrícola Hipotecario y la modernización de predios agropecuarios en Salgar, Antioquia, entre 1925 y 1950

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este artículo analiza, desde la historia económica y social, escrituras notariales y publicaciones periódicas relacionadas con el Banco Agrícola Hipotecario y los servicios financieros que ofreció en el municipio de Salgar, Antioquia, entre 1925 y 1950. El objetivo es mostrar que, en dicho período, la entidad financiera tuvo un impacto tanto en la modernización (en términos de tecnificación, refacción o adecuación) de predios agropecuarios, como en las relaciones sociales y económicas de la población campesina de dicho municipio. Esta reflexión vislumbra el interés gubernamental por promover el desarrollo agropecuario en la región estudiada mediante la implementación de políticas de crédito y financiamiento dirigidas a ese sector, como la creación y funcionamiento del Banco Agrícola Hipotecario

ABSTRACT: This article analyzes, from economic and social history, notarial deeds and periodical publications related to the Agricultural Mortgage Bank and the financial services it offered in the municipality of Salgar, Antioquia, between 1925 and 1950. The objective is to show that in said period the financial entity had an impact both on the modernization (in terms of technical innovation, repair or adaptation) of agricultural properties, and on the social and economic relations of the peasant population of said municipality. This reflection glimpses the government's interest in promoting agricultural development in the region studied through the implementation of credit and financing policies aimed at that sector, such as the creation and operation of the Agricultural Mortgage Bank
