El voseo y su alternancia con "usted" en el teatro costumbrista antioqueño del siglo XX

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este artículo pretende ofrecer una descripción de las características morfosintácticas del pronombre vos, con el propósito de establecer el paradigma del voseo propio del ámbito rural antioqueño a partir del teatro costumbrista del siglo XX; de otro lado, busca analizar el uso de vos, usted y algunas formas nominales en la interacción verbal de los personajes, de acuerdo con las dimensiones de poder y solidaridad de Brown y Gilman (1960), con el fin de descubrir de qué manera se reflejan en estos tratamientos. Además, en relación con la teoría de la imagen de Brown y Levinson (1987), se observarán algunas estrategias discursivas sobre la alternancia de pronombres de segunda persona singular utilizadas por los personajes en sus conversaciones con respecto a la (des)cortesía lingüística. Finalmente, en las conclusiones se destacan algunos aspectos pragmáticos analizados que puedan llevar en el futuro a otras indagaciones en esta misma dirección, dentro del español regional.

ABSTARCT: This article pretends to offer a description about the morphosyntactic features of pronoun vos, with the purpose to establish the practical use of the voseo that is proper of the Antioquian rural environment, starting from the twentieth-century folk theater; on the other side, it searches to analyze the use of vos, usted and the nominal forms in the verbal interaction of personages, according to Brown’s and Gilman’s power and solidarity dimensions (1960), in order to discover the manner how these treatments are reflected. Likewise, concerning Brown’s and Levinson’s theory of image (1987), some discourse strategies about the alternation of firstsingular person pronouns, we will observe which are used by personages in their conversations as regards language courtesy and discourtesy. Finally, in the conclusions we outstand some analyzed practical aspects, which in the future may lead to other researches in this same direction into the regional Spanish.
