Significados de los estudiantes universitarios de la ciudad de Medellín hacia el uso de la bicicleta : una forma de vivirse y vivir en la ciudad

Abstract

RESUMEN: En los últimos años se ha podido observar cómo en Medellín ha aumentado el uso de la bicicleta de diversas maneras, a partir de este fenómeno surgió el interés para llevar a cabo esta investigación, buscando describir de qué forma se comportan, actúan, toman decisiones y cuáles son los significados de los estudiantes universitarios de la ciudad hacia el uso de este medio de transporte. Así mismo se pretendió investigar acerca de la interacción individuo – ambiente que se desarrolla al momento de utilizarla. Para cumplir con el objetivo de la investigación se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a 11 estudiantes de diferentes universidades de la ciudad. El estudio estuvo orientado desde un enfoque cualitativo que permitió a las investigadoras tener un mayor contacto con el fenómeno y sus participantes, con el propósito de recoger información respecto a creencias, pensamientos y acciones emprendidas por estos en relación al tema tratado, además de contar con una estructura teórica de corte más social, donde jugaron un papel importante la psicología social y ambiental, y el interaccionismo simbólico.

ABSTRACT: In the last few years it has been observed how in Medellin has increased the use of the bicycle in diverses ways, from this phenomenon arose the interest to carry out this research, seeking to describe how they behave, act, make decisions and what are the meanings of the university students in the city towards the use of this means of transport. Likewise, it was intended to research about the individual environment interaction that develops when using it. To fulfill the research objective were made semi structured interviews to eleven students from different universities in the city. The study was oriented from a qualitative strategy that allowed the researchers to have more contact with the phenomenon and its participants, with the purpose of collecting information regarding beliefs, thoughts and actions assumed by them in relation to the topic, also to having a more social theoretical structure, where social and environmental psychology and symbolic interactionism played an important role. At the end of the research process, we described the different uses made by university students of the bicycle, the forms of teaching and learning, and the psycho-emotional factors that influence the behavior of individuals to continue using it in their life daily.
