Buenaventura : entre el desarrollo y la defensa del territorio

Abstract

RESUMEN: La presente monografía titulada “Buenaventura: Entre el desarrollo económico y la defensa del territorio” es una investigación donde se aborda la problemática territorial de los habitantes afrocolombianos del barrio San José en la zona de Bajamar de la ciudad de Buenaventura frente a la implementación del megaproyecto turístico del Malecón Bahía de la Cruz por parte del municipio y la empresa privada. A través del método etnográfico se realizaron diferentes visitas que permitieron trazar un panorama más amplio de dicha problemática, identificando los actores en disputa, los intereses de cada uno y las concepciones que tienen sobre el territorio. El desarrollo de esta monografía inicia con un acercamiento a las discusiones sobre lo que significa ser afro y las transformaciones de este discurso en los últimos 25 años basado en los postulados teóricos de autores como Peter Wade y Eduardo Restrepo, desde los cuales se pueden identificar ciertos elementos culturales representativos y diferenciadores, que actualmente perviven y han servido a la comunidad de San José en su proceso de defensa territorial y de reivindicación étnica como afrocolombianos en un contexto urbano.

ABSTRACT: This monograph entitled "Buenaventura: Between economic development and the defense of the territory" is an investigation that addresses the territorial problem of Afro-Colombian inhabitants of the San José neighborhood in the Bajamar area of ​​the city of Buenaventura in the face of the implementation of the megaproject tour of the Malecon Bahía de la Cruz by the municipality and private companies. Through the ethnographic method, different visits were made that allowed us to draw a broader panorama of this problem, identifying the actors in dispute, the interests of each and the conceptions they have about the territory. The development of this monograph begins with an approach to the discussions about what it means to be Afro and the transformations of this discourse in the last 25 years based on the theoretical postulates of authors such as Peter Wade and Eduardo Restrepo, from which certain representative and differentiating cultural elements that currently survive and have served the community of San José in its process of territorial defense and ethnic claim as Afro-Colombians in an urban context.
