Identidad, representación social y construcción de territorio en las mujeres de la vereda El Porvenir de El Carmen de Viboral, Antioquia

Abstract

RESUMEN: La finalidad de la presente investigación es indagar por los factores sociales e históricos que han permitido construir la identidad de las mujeres de la vereda El Porvenir, configurando unos modelos participativos dentro del territorio, promoviendo la defensa, protección y desarrollo comunitario. Para recopilar la información, se emplearon los métodos etnográficos y fenomenológicos, permitiendo hacer una descripción de la vida cotidiana. Con ello se logró indagar por los símbolos y las representaciones sociales que han conformado la identidad de las mujeres antes, durante y después del conflicto armado, posibilitando así un acercamiento a profundidad al fenómeno social a investigar.

La investigación se efectúo con 37 habitantes de la vereda El Porvenir del municipio El Carmen de Viboral. Se realizaron 4 inmersiones al contexto, 6 entrevistas semi-estructuradas a mujeres, 2 grupos focales (uno con hombres y otro con mujeres) y 3 talleres participativos con niñas, niños, jóvenes y adultos mayores. Con todo ello, se logró dar correlación a la información recopilada acerca de la percepción sobre las mujeres en la vereda.

Para el análisis de los resultados y de las categorías emergentes, se empleó el método narrativo y etnográfico, tomando como principal instrumento las transcripciones de los discursos de la comunidad, encontrando así imaginarios, autopercepciones y vivencias de las mujeres a lo largo de la historia de la comunidad.

Entre los resultados de esta investigación se evidencian como las circunstancias socio-históricas que experimenta un territorio, configuran la identidad de las mujeres desde la percepción de sí mismas y de otros sobre ellas, trasformado sus prácticas, su pensamiento y sus creencias. También, se evidenció la importancia de la participación de las mujeres en espacios públicos para el fortalecimiento y desarrollo de sociedades más equitativas e inclusivas.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this research is to investigate the social and historical factors that have allowed to women of the rural area El Porvenir to build their identity, shaping participatory models within the territory, by promoting the advocacy, protection and communitarian development. Ethnographic and phenomenological methods were used to collect information, allowing a description of their daily life. Thus, the symbols and social representations that have shaped the identity of women before, during and after the armed conflict, were reached enabling a thorough approach to the social phenomenon to be investigated.

The research was carried out with 37 inhabitants of El Porvenir in the municipality of El Carmen de Viboral. To this purpose, 4 context dives, 6 semi-structured interviews with women, 2 focal groups (one with men and one other with women) and 3 participatory workshops with girls, boys, youth and older adults were created. With all this, it was possible to correlate the information gathered about the perception of women in that rural area.

Narrative and ethnographic method were used for the analysis of the results and the emerging categories, using as main research instrument the transcriptions of the community’ speeches, thus finding imaginaries, self-perceptions and experiences of women throughout the history of the community.

The results of this research show how the socio-historical circumstances experienced by a territory shape the identity of women from the perception of themselves and those from others about them, transforming their practices, their thinking and their beliefs. The importance of women’s participation in public spaces for the strengthening and development of more equitable and inclusive societies was also highlighted.
