Abstract

RESUMEN: La investigación Los muros del placer: religión, cuerpo y erotismo en el cuento Noticias de un convento frente al mar de Germán Espinosa, tiene como objetivo establecer la relación de las prácticas religiosas que se describen en el convento de San Simón Stock, ubicado entre Arboletes y el Golfo de Morrosquillo a principios del siglo XX, con el cuerpo, como un constructo donde se percibe la existencia y las normas socioculturales; así como el erotismo, entendido como una manifestación transgresora que da paso al deseo y a pulsos de vida y muerte. Dicho informe final adoptó la metodología de la etnoliteratura en la cual se tuvo un texto literario como fuente esencial para realizar un análisis antropológico y entender las dinámicas socioculturales que propone desde la narración. Por otra parte, este informe se dividirá en cuatro capítulos: en el primero se esclarecerá la metodología que fue escogida en la investigación y la estrategia de análisis de las categorías conceptuales. En el segundo se hace una génesis y recepción literaria del cuento, una contextualización de la situación sociopolítica de la Iglesia Católica a principios del siglo XX en la zona en donde se ubica el relato, y el rol que tenían las mujeres en esta época. El tercero el tercer capítulo hace un acercamiento teórico sobre el erotismo para pasar luego al análisis de los momentos en donde aparece esta manifestación en el relato de Espinosa y su potencial liberador. En el último capítulo se aborda el tema del cuerpo como categoría analítica y, en consecuencia, se adopta la propuesta de Scheper-Hughes y Lock de “los cuerpos” para analizarlo bajo las tres clasificaciones que proponen: el cuerpo individual, social y político. Al final se harán una serie de conclusiones para esclarecer la relación existente entre religión, cuerpo y erotismo en el cuento Noticias de un convento frente al mar.

ABSTRACT: The research The walls of pleasure: religion, body and eroticism in the story News of a convent facing the sea by Germán Espinosa, aims to establish the relationship of religious practices described in the convent of San Simón Stock, which was located between Arboletes and the Gulf of Morrosquillo at the beginning of the 20th century, with the body, as a construct where sociocultural existence and norms are perceived, and eroticism, understood as a transgressive manifestation that gives way to desire and pulses of life and death. This research work adopted the ethno-literature methodology in which a literary text is used as an essential source to carry out an anthropological analysis and to understand the sociocultural dynamics that it proposes from its narrative. On the other hand, this report will be divided into four chapters: on the first one the methodology that was chosen in the research and the analysis strategy of the conceptual categories will be clarified. Secondly, a literary genesis and reception of the story is made, here a contextualization is made of the socio-political situation of the Catholic Church in the early twentieth century, taking into account the setting where the story is located and the role of women at this time. The third chapter makes a theoretical approach to eroticism, followed by the analysis of the moments where this manifestation appears in Espinosa’s narration and its liberating potential. In the last chapter the subject of the body as an analytical category is approached and, consequently, the proposal of Scheper-Hughes and Lock of "the bodies" is adopted to analyze it under the three classifications that they propose: the individual, social and political body. At the end of the research work, a series of conclusions are made that could clarify the relationship between religion, body and eroticism in the story News of a convent facing the sea by Germán Espinosa.
