Los estilos parentales y el consumo de sustancias psicoactivas en un grupo de jóvenes del Distrito de Turbo, Antioquia

Abstract

RESUMEN: Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo general relacionar los estilos parentales y el consumo de sustancias psicoactivas en un grupo de jóvenes del Distrito de Turbo Antioquia, el cual La metodología que se planteó en este estudio fue cuantitativa con un diseño no experimental-transversal y de alcance correlacional, que utilizó como instrumentos el cuestionario de Consumo de Drogas propuesto por el Instituto de Seguridad Social del Estado de México y Municipios (ISSEMYM); y la Escala de Estilos de Crianza de Steinberg (Lamborn, Mounts, Steinberg & Dornbusch, 1991). Los resultados evidenciaron que no hubo una relación significativa entre las variables estilos parentales y consumo de sustancias; el estilo autoritativo fue el que obtuvo una mayor puntuación, junto a la dimensión de compromiso, y que el estilo con menor puntaje fue el negligente. En cuanto al nivel de consumo auto reportado el 75% de la muestra refiere consumo bajo.

ABSTRACT: The general objective of this research was to relate parental styles and the consumption of psychoactive substances in a group of young people in the Turbo Antioquia District, which had a sample of 100 students established in an age range of 14 to 19 years. The methodology proposed in this study is of a quantitative approach with a non-experimental-transversal design and of correlational scope, which used as instruments the Drug Use questionnaire proposed by the Social Security Institute of the State of Mexico and Municipalities (ISSEMYM), and the Steinberg Ageing Style Scale (Lamborn, Mounts, Steinberg & Dornbusch, 1991). The results showed that there was no significant relationship between the variables parental styles and substance use; the authoritative style was the one that obtained the highest score, along with the dimension of commitment, and that the style with the lowest score was negligent. As for the level of self-reported consumption, 75% of the sample refers to low consumption.
