Percepción de los estudiantes de instrumentación quirúrgica de último semestre para iniciar actividades laborales posterior a su grado durante el año 2022

Abstract

RESUMEN: El futuro laboral es un tema incierto en la mayoría de estudiantes universitarios, lo cual puede generar percepciones e influencias en los sentimientos tanto positivas como negativas, más aún teniendo en cuenta que la experiencia laboral es un factor que prima al momento de contratar un empleado, por lo que para muchos jóvenes es un impedimento para ingresar al mundo laboral posterior a sus grados universitarios. Objetivo: Analizar las percepciones que tienen los estudiantes de octavo semestre de Instrumentación Quirúrgica de la Universidad de Antioquia frente al inicio de actividades laborales al obtener el título profesional durante el año 2022. Método: Se realizó un estudio con enfoque cualitativo y de tipo fenomenológico, la selección de la muestra es no probabilística a conveniencia e incluye a los estudiantes de último semestre de Instrumentación Quirúrgica de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Antioquia que se gradúen durante el año 2022, la recolección de la información fue realizada mediante entrevistas estructuradas. Resultados: La información obtenida se categorizó teniendo en cuenta las percepciones del futuro laboral, los sentimientos que estas producen, las percepciones acerca de la preferencia de género y los aportes de las prácticas profesionales para enfrentarse al primer empleo. Conclusión: Los estudiantes manifestaron en su mayoría percepciones optimistas acerca del futuro laboral tomando como referencia las prácticas profesionales, sin embargo, estas percepciones fueron relacionadas con sentimientos de ansiedad por la responsabilidad que conlleva convertirse en profesional.

ABSTRACT: The future of work is an uncertain topic for most university students, which can generate perceptions and influences both positive and negative feelings, even more so considering that work experience is a factor that prevails when hiring an employee, therefore, for many young people it is an impediment to enter the world of work after completing their university degrees. Objective: To analyze the perceptions that the eighth semester students of Surgical Instrumentation at the University of Antioquia have regarding the start of work activities when obtaining the professional title during the year 2022. Method: A study with a qualitative and phenomenological approach was carried out, the selection of the sample is non-probabilistic at convenience and includes the students of the last semester of Surgical Instrumentation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Antioquia who graduate during the year 2022, the information was collected through structured interviews. Results: The information obtained was categorized taking into account the perceptions of the future job, the feelings that these produce, the perceptions about gender preference and the contributions of professional practices to face the first job. Conclusion: Most of the students expressed optimistic perceptions about the future of work, taking professional internships as a reference; however, these perceptions were related to feelings of anxiety about the responsibility that becoming a professional entails.
