Concepción de la sexualidad de la mujer y sus patologías en la psicología y la psiquiatría

Abstract

RESUMEN: La psicología y la psiquiatría estudian el comportamiento y los procesos mentales del ser humano; su terapéutica y los procesos de adaptación y bienestar se orientan a partir de la concepción del sufrimiento y las patologías inherentes a su episteme. Partiendo de los objetos psicológicos y los procesos biológicos y bioquímicos que son base, tanto desde la psicología como desde la psiquiatría, y delimitando el concepto a personas que biológicamente han nacido como mujeres y se reconocen como tal, se pretende describir la concepción de la sexualidad de la mujer y sus patologías partiendo de un enfoque cualitativo y haciendo uso del estado del arte como metodología investigativa. Se identificaron estereotipos y condiciones culturales en la concepción de la sexualidad de la mujer, desde los que se plantea la importancia de promover una visión inclusiva y respetuosa de la misma; además, se apunta a la necesidad de que la mujer viva libremente su sexualidad, al reconocimiento del feminismo en el desarrollo médico y científico, y a la relevancia de aspectos médicos y psicológicos en el tratamiento de las disfunciones sexuales. El enfoque implementado facilitó la identificación de los resultados a pesar de que la cantidad de información, relacionada a la sexualidad de la mujer en la psicología y la psiquiatría, es escasa, generando una base para investigaciones futuras y la toma de decisiones informadas en relación al tema.

ABSTRACT: Psychology and psychiatry study the behavior and mental processes of human beings; their therapeutics and the processes of adaptation and well-being are oriented from the conception of the suffering and pathologies inherent to their episteme. Starting from the psychological objects and the biological and biochemical processes that are the basis, both from psychology and psychiatry, and delimiting the scope to people who are biologically born as women and recognize themselves as such, it is aimed to describe the conception of women's sexuality and its pathologies with a qualitative approach and using the state of the art as a research methodology. Stereotypes and cultural conditions in the conception of women's sexuality were identified, from which the importance of promoting an inclusive and respectful vision of it is proposed; in addition, the need for women to live their sexuality freely, the recognition of feminism in medical and scientific development, and the relevance of medical and psychological aspects in the treatment of sexual dysfunctions are pointed out. The approach implemented facilitated the identification of the results despite the fact that the information related to women's sexuality in psychology and psychiatry is limited, generating a basis for future research and informed decision making in relation to the subject.
