Participación política y ciudadana de mujeres en el municipio de Itagüí en el período 2013-2023

Abstract

RESUMEN: Con el objetivo de identificar las particularidades que enfrentan las mujeres en sus ejercicios de participación, el presente informe analiza las barreras y potencialidades presentes en la participación política y ciudadana de mujeres en Itagüí durante el período 2013-2023. A través de entrevistas semiestructuradas, se ahondó en la experiencia y puntos de vista de seis mujeres líderes en participación política y ciudadana en el municipio, identificando las principales dificultades que encuentran en su participación, tanto en el ámbito ciudadano como en el político-electoral, así como las potencialidades que emergen de su capacidad de incidencia, respaldadas por las motivaciones, logros, redes y enfoques enunciados. Asimismo, las recomendaciones se basan en su experiencia para un mejor ejercicio político de las mujeres en Itagüí. En este contexto, la participación política y ciudadana de estas mujeres constituye una práctica disruptiva para las lógicas patriarcales, su capacidad para superar desafíos y aprovechar oportunidades y alianzas muestra un camino hacia la equidad de género y el empoderamiento femenino en Itagüí.

ABSTRACT: With the aim of elucidating the specific challenges encountered by women in their engagement endeavors, the current report delves into the barriers and potentialities inherent in the political and civic participation of women in Itagüí spanning the period 2013-2023. Employing semi-structured interviews, an in-depth exploration was conducted into the experiences and perspectives of six female leaders in political and civic engagement within the municipality, discerning the primary difficulties they face in their participation, both within civic domains and in the political-electoral sphere, as well as the potentialities arising from their capacity for influence, underpinned by their motivations, accomplishments, networks, and articulated approaches. Furthermore, recommendations drawn from their experiences for enhancing the political engagement of women in Itagüí were synthesized. Within this framework, the political and citizen participation of these women constitutes a disruptive practice for patriarchal logics, and their adeptness at surmounting challenges and leveraging opportunities and alliances delineates a pathway toward gender equity and female empowerment in Itagüí
