Metáforas conceptuales en el discurso periodístico ¿creación discursiva o escrtuctura conceptual?

Abstract

RESUMEN: En este trabajo se realiza una investigación dirigida por corpus que pretende establecer si las metáforas conceptuales que subyacen en las expresiones metafóricas encontradas en 90 artículos periodísticos tomados de las secciones: política, deportes y tecnología de un periódico colombiano de nivel nacional, son motivadas por el contenido del discurso o si su motivación está dada por una estructura conceptual más general. La base teórica de la investigación es la teoría de la metáfora conceptual, que está dentro del marco de la lingüística cognitiva. Se identificaron manualmente las metáforas de los artículos y se categorizaron dentro de alguna metáfora conceptual que se tipifica como regular o irregular. Finalmene, se encontró una mayor productividad de metáforas conceptuales comunes a todas las temáticas, lo que sugiere la existencia de una estructura conceptual general en el contexto.

ABSTRACT: This paper shows a corpus-driven research made to establish if the conceptual metaphors underlying the metaphorical expressions found in 90 newspaper articles, taken from the sports, politics and technology sections, are motivated by the discourse structure or if they are motivated by a more general conceptual structure given the embodiment of thought. The theoretical foundation of this research is the conceptual metaphor theory, which is inside the cognitive linguistics’ paradigm. The metaphors from the articles were identified manually, and were categorized in a conceptual metaphor that was typified as regular or irregular. Several conceptual metaphors were found to be common to all sections, which suggests the existence of a general conceptual structure in the context they were made.
