Vocación turística en el municipio de La Unión en el Oriente Antioqueño. En busca de un desarrollo turístico sostenible

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo logró conocer las actividades turísticas que se pueden realizar en el municipio de La Unión, evaluando el Documento base del Plan de Desarrollo Turístico (2015) y el Plan de Desarrollo Municipal (2016-2019), entendiendo que la vocación turística, tema principal de este proyecto, debe abordarse como una construcción social (Estado, sector privado y comunidad). Así, se realizó el estudio de algunos conceptos para abordar el desarrollo turístico sostenible y vocación turística, que fueron: turismo, desarrollo turístico, turismo comunitario, turismo sostenible, agroturismo y turismo agroindustrial, producto turístico, y vocación turística, haciendo posible la identificación de potencialidades y debilidades en la región. Posteriormente, se indagaron las apreciaciones de la administración municipal, empresas privadas, prestadores de servicios, turistas, y habitantes interesados en desarrollar procesos turísticos, hacia el desarrollo del turismo en la región; y los niveles de relación entre actores clave de la localidad (instituciones públicas y privadas, empresas que representan la economía del municipio, operadores turísticos y actores individuales con el desarrollo turístico sostenible). Luego, se plantearon 5 rutas con potencial turístico en mapas, visibilizando en la región una apuesta hacia el turismo agroindustrial, que requiere la participación activa de todos los entes antes mencionados.

ABSTRACT: This research accomplished in order to know the tourist activities that can be perform in La Unión; this could be done thought analyzing the Tourism Development Plan (2015) and the Municipal Development Plan (2016-2019). Moreover, the tourist vocation which is the main topic of this research must be approached as a social construction (State, private field and community). Thus, it was carried out the study of some concepts in order to approach to the sustainable tourism development and tourist vocation, they were: tourism, tourism development, community tourism, sustainable tourism, agro-tourism and agro-industrial tourism, tourist product, and tourist vocation. Therefore, it made possible to identify the potentialities and weaknesses in the region. Subsequently, the appreciations of the municipal administration, private enterprises, service providers, tourists, and the population interested developing tourism processes towards the development of tourism in the region were inquired. Additionally, it also was inquired about the levels of relationship between key local people (public and private institutions, companies which are the representation of the economy of the municipality, tour operators and individual people with sustainable tourism development). Finally, five routes with tourist potential on maps were proposed, making a feasible commitment towards agro-industrial tourism in the region, which requires the active participation of all the entities mentioned.
