La imaginación en psicología: posturas teóricas y una elaboración desde el punto de vista Vygotskyano

Abstract

RESUMEN: el presente trabajo es una revisión documental sobre el estudio de la imaginación en psicología a partir de algunas de las tradiciones más representativas que se pueden ubicar en dicha materia. En total, se abordaron cinco puntos de vista y se hizo énfasis en la teoría de Lev Vygotsky. Los otros cuatro puntos de vista se corresponden a (1) la tradición conductista, (2) fenomenología de la imaginación, (3) la actividad creadora según Freud y (4) la imaginación para William James. Además, este trabajo incluye un análisis global de los puntos de vista que se abordaron respecto a sus alcances y límites más relevantes, así como una profundización en el punto de vista del primer autor aquí mencionado. En tal sentido, el objetivo final es plantear la imaginación como un fenómeno de interés central para la psicología y, al mismo, tiempo, brindar un contexto teórico general que presente algunos antecedentes cruciales para tal fin.

ABSTRACT: the present work is a documentary review on the study of imagination in psychology from some of the most representative traditions that can be located in this matter. In all, five points of view were addressed and Lev Vygotsky's theory was emphasized. The other four points of view correspond to (1) the behaviorist tradition, (2) the phenomenology of the imagination, (3) the creative activity according to Freud and (4) the imagination for William James. In addition, this work includes a global analysis of the points of view that were approached regarding their most relevant scopes and limits, as well as a deepening of the point of view of the first author mentioned here. In this sense, the ultimate goal is to pose the imagination as a phenomenon of central interest to psychology and, at the same time, provide a general theoretical context that presents some crucial antecedents for this purpose.
