La experiencia de ser niño y niña migrante : Entre la marginalización y la agencia infantil

Abstract

RESUMEN: En las sociedades de destino se está evidenciando un marcado rechazo hacia los migrantes, generalmente por su condición de errancia, procedencia y su situación de pobreza. De esta manera, se van configurando una serie de etiquetas que terminan rotulando también a los niños migrantes venezolanos como personas indeseables, maleantes e indignas, mostrándolos como una amenaza ante las comunidades de acogida. Sin embargo, este no es el único matiz de la migración, ya que este fenómeno se muestra ambivalente, porque tras la marginalización puede revelarse también la agencia infantil. Por consiguiente, asoman las potencialidades, los niños y las niñas van logrado conservar su libertad, tienen intereses propios, van adquiriendo nuevos aprendizajes y transformaciones individuales que los llevan a establecerse y arraigarse en el nuevo territorio, pensando en la búsqueda de un futuro mejor y de nuevas oportunidades. Por ende, el presente estudio tuvo como propósito comprender los significados que niños y niñas le otorgan a las experiencias de migración, develando como en distintos momentos de sus vidas esas experiencias transitan entre la marginalización y la capacidad de agencia infantil.

ABSTRACT: In the host societies, a marked rejection towards migrants is being evidenced, which is generally the product of their status of wandering, origin, and their situation of poverty. In this sense, this is how a series of labels are configured that also end up labeling Venezuelan migrant children as undesirable, thugs, and outraged people, showing them as a threat to the destination communities. However, this is not the only nuance of migration, this phenomenon is ambivalent. This is how, after marginalization, the infantile agency can be revealed. Therefore, the potentialities appear, the boys and girls can preserve their freedom, have their interests, and are acquiring new learning and individual transformations that lead them to establish themselves and take root in the new territory, thinking of the search for a better future and new opportunities. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to understand the meanings that boys and girls give to migration experiences, revealing how at different times in their lives these experiences move between marginalization and children's capacity for agency.
