¿Suma sacerdotisa u ocho de copas? : perspectivas antropológicas de la lectura del tarot en tres canales de YouTube.

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo tiene por propósito analizar las formas emergentes de adivinación con el tarot, a través de vídeos subidos a la plataforma YouTube durante los años 2020, 2021 y 2022. Con este fin, se hizo una descripción del proceso adivinatorio de tres canales, mediante la visualización y análisis de 10 vídeos de cada uno. Se enfatiza en cómo se presenta la información y qué tipo de herramientas discursivas y adivinatorias se usan; además, se revisaron 5 comentarios de cada vídeo para caracterizar las perspectivas de los consultantes. Adicionalmente, se entablaron conversaciones con tres tarotistas para tener un panorama de otras modalidades de lecturas. El análisis se realizó a partir de tres dimensiones: comunicativa, adivinatoria y terapéutica. Los resultados se presentaron siguiendo una estructura determinada por dichas dimensiones, lo que permitió presentar la información ordenadamente, sin dejar de poner en evidencia que los límites entre ellas son delgados y se traviesan con frecuencia. La investigación concluye que el escenario construido por los tarotistas es un espacio controlado en el que los objetos que aparecen tienen un sentido comunicativo. Además, el uso del tarot como una herramienta de autodescubrimiento y reflexión ha ganado relevancia; este potencial terapéutico se nutre también de su carácter adivinatorio. Las lecturas de tarot que fueron analizadas generan alivio en los consultantes; esta idea se explora con profundidad y se sostiene gracias a la presentación de recursos comunicativos y adivinatorios empleados por los tarotistas.

ABSTRACT: The object of this study is to analyze the emerging forms of divination by means of tarot, through videos uploaded to the YouTube platform during the years 2020, 2021 and 2022. For this purpose, a description of the divination process of three channels was made, through the observation and analysis of 10 videos from each one. The emphasis herein is on how the information is presented and what type of discursive and divinatory tools are used; in addition, 5 comments from each video were reviewed to characterize the perspectives of the viewers. Additionally, several consultations were carried out with three tarot readers to get an overview of other modalities of readings. The analysis was based on three dimensions: communicative, divinatory, and therapeutic. The results were presented following a structure determined by these dimensions, which made it possible to systematically present the information, while highlighting the fact that the boundaries between them are thin and frequently crossed. The research concludes that the scenario constructed by the tarot readers is a controlled space in which the objects they show have a communicative meaning. In addition, the use of tarot as a tool for self-discovery and reflection has gained relevance; this therapeutic potential is also nourished by its divinatory character. The tarot readings that were analyzed generate relief among the consulters; this idea is explored in depth and is supported by the presentation of communicative and divinatory resources used by the tarot readers.
