El niño con espina bífida y su familia : el reto para el cuidado de enfermería

Abstract

RESUMEN: La espina bífida es un defecto del tubo neural que afecta a niños y niñas en un proporción 1 – 2 por mil nacidos vivos. Su importancia radica en la forma que afecta al bebé: hidrocefalia, parálisis flácida de los miembros inferiores, incontinencia urinaria e intestinal y retraso sicomotor, entre lo más importantes. No sólo es el niño el que sufre, es también su familia, la que antes de nacer puede enterarse del problema. Para ofrecer los cuidados necesarios al bebé y su familia, el profesional de enfermería debe conocer esta patología, y sus implicaciones, con el fin único de ofrecer un cuidado integral con calidad y profesionalismo.

ABSTRACT: The thorn bífida is a defect of the neural tube that affects children and girls in a proportion 1 - 2 for thousand born alive. Their importance resides in the form that affects the baby: hidrocefalia, flabby paralysis of the inferior members, incontinence urinaria and intestinal and I retard sicomotor, among the most important. He/she is not only the boy the one that suffers, it is also their family, the one that can find out the problem before being born. To offer the necessary cares to the baby and their family, the infirmary professional should know this pathology, and her implications, with the unique end of offering an integral care with quality and professionalism.
