La tradición cafetera e independiente de los caficultores del Suroeste antioqueño entre los años 2021 y 2022

Abstract

RESUMEN: En Antioquia se estima que 95 de los 125 municipios producen café, esto representa 73.000 familias caficultoras (Cámara de Comercio para Antioquia, 2021) La mayoría de estas familias se concentran principalmente en el suroeste antioqueño; municipios cómo Jardín, Jericó, Andes, Ciudad Bolívar, Hispania, Salgar y Concordia, guardan en sus montañas los cafetales con mayor producción de Antioquia. En el presente trabajo explicamos como los caficultores de estos municipios, exactamente Jardín, Jericó, Ciudad Bolívar, Hispania y Andes, pese a los grandes cambios que han ocurrido en los últimos dos años, algunos han logrado mantener la tradición cafetera e independiente entre los años 2021 y 2022.

ABSTRACT: In Antioquia, it is estimated that 95 of the 125 municipalities produce coffee, this represents 73,000 coffee-growing families (Chamber of Commerce for Antioquia, 2021). The majority of these families are concentrated mainly in southwest Antioquia; Municipalities such as Jardín, Jericó, Andes, Ciudad Bolívar, Hispania, Salgar and Concordia, keep in their mountains the coffee plantations with the highest production in Antioquia. In this work we explain how the coffee growers of these municipalities, exactly Jardín, Jerico, Ciudad Bolívar, Hispania and Andes, despite the great changes that have occurred in the last two years, some have managed to maintain the independent coffee tradition over the years 2021 and 2022.
