Volver al barro: Diseño y antropología del espacio doméstico

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este ejercicio investigativo se propuso indagar el vínculo logrado entre Antropología y Diseño como una posibilidad para fundar relaciones diferentes, tanto con el ambiente como entre nosotros mismos, abordando los cuestionamientos que han llevado a un grupo cada vez más grande de personas a pensarse sus vidas y plantear como una opción de vida posible el asentarse en la ruralidad y diseñar este espacio a través de estrategias y procesos fundados en el reencantamiento por lo vital y la naturaleza. Un proceso a la inversa del propuesto por Weber: desencantamiento moderno del mundo, donde la revaloración sobre el tipo de relaciones que se están privilegiando para el habitar tienden a la sacralización de la vida, la naturaleza en sus diferentes expresiones y la posibilidad para conectar o reconectarse con esta. Una nueva ruralidad que se plantea en el intento por enmarcar las transformaciones por las que atraviesa este espacio. Para esto, tomo como objeto y materialización de esas ideas el diseño de hábitats humanos, la construcción del espacio doméstico, recogiendo la cadena operatoria de tres procesos ubicados en el departamento de Boyacá en los que me introduje aprendiendo las técnicas y materiales, “metiendo las manos al barro”, mezclándolo, cortando el magué, manipulando cal y fibra de fique, entre otras tareas necesarias para la construcción de: la kerterre en La Magdalena, el baño al aire libre de El Arca Verde y en la reparación de una casa antigua hecha en ladrillo de tierra ubicada entre Nuevo Colón y Turmequé.

ABSTRACT: This research set out to inquiry the link between Anthropology and Design as a possibility to establish different relationships, both with the environment and among ourselves, addressing the questions that have led an increasingly large group of people to think about their lives and propose as a possible life option to settle in rural areas and design this space through strategies and processes based on the re-enchantment of life and nature. It is a process that is the inverse of the one proposed by Weber: modern disenchantment of the world, where the revaluation of the type of relationships that are being privileged for living tends to the sacralization of life, nature in its different expressions and the possibility of connecting or reconnecting with it. A new rurality that arises in the attempt to frame the transformations that this space is going through. For this, I take as an object and materialization of these ideas the design of human habitats, the construction of the domestic space, collecting the operative chain of three processes located in the department of Boyacá in which I was introduced learning the techniques and materials, "putting my hands in the mud", mixing it, cutting Magué, manipulating lime and Fique fiber, among other necessary tasks to build la Kerterre in La Magdalena, the open-air bath of El Arca Verde and in the repair of an old house made of earthen brick located between Nuevo Colón and Turmequé.
