Narrativas transmediales: procesos de creación literaria en la comunidad sorda de la Corporación La Rueda Flotante

Abstract

RESÚMEN: A raíz del crecimiento de integrantes de la comunidad Sorda en la Universidad de Antioquia, la pregunta por la manera de leer y producir literatura dentro de esta, históricamente discriminada y obligada a usar la palabra verbal como única opción de comunicación, me lleva a plantear como objetivo la creación de una narrativa que no esté hecha de palabras, en su lugar las protagonistas serán las imágenes que se imprimen en los movimientos de los cuerpos sordos. Para cumplir con este objetivo, se eligió realizar un Visual Vernácular, una técnica que tiene su origen en la comunidad Sorda, para realizar la expansión de un universo fantástico y cuya historia está contada principalmente a modo de podcast realizado por el grupo de teatro ciego de la corporación Casa Rueda Flotante. La metodología referida a la Investigación-Creación, implica un contacto constante de la investigadora (oyente) con algunos integrantes Sordos de la Corporación la Rueda Flotante. Estudiar su lengua e historia, asistir a encuentros con la comunidad Sorda, participar de talleres de Visual Vernacular, fue configurando un camino que hace posible la comunicación con los artistas Sordos para lograr una pieza visual cuyo contenido tiene como potencialidad la continuación de expansión en diferentes medios y formatos, y en un futuro lograr la creación de una comunidad aficionada en torno a el universo narrativo de la Oreja del Volcán.

ABSTRACT: As a result of the growth of members of the deaf community in the educational community of the University of Antioquia, the question of how to read and produce literature within this community — historically discriminated against and forced to use the verbal word as the only option for communication —, leads me to propose as an objective the creation of a narrative. A narrative that is not made of words: the protagonists will be the images printed in the movements of the deaf bodies. To achieve this objective, a Visual Vernacular was chosen. It is a technique that finds its origins in the deaf community and allows the expansion of a fantastic universe, whose story is mainly told in the form of a podcast, presented by the blind theatre group of the Rueda Flotante corporation. The applied methodology involves constant contact of the researcher (hearing) with the deaf community and its culture. Studying their language and history, attending meetings with the community, and participating in Visual Vernacular workshops, are activities that shape a path that makes communication with Deaf artists possible. Thus, a visual piece whose content has the potential to expand in different media and formats is achieved. This can result in the creation of an amateur community around the narrative universe of the Oreja del Volcán in the future.
